Chamber Music Amarillo was founded in 1999, when David Palmer (now Executive/Artistic Director) and a group of Amarillo musicians realized there was a need for an organization in the region that could present many different forms of chamber music. With the abundant support and interest from the local community of such organizations as The Amarillo Symphony, The Harrington String Quartet, and faculties of West Texas A&M University and Amarillo College, David Palmer set out to create the Amarillo Chamber Music Society, now known as Chamber Music Amarillo. Chamber Music Amarillo ( CMA), a not-for-profit 501(C)(3) cultural institution for the advancement of the art of chamber music presents enhanced concert experiences to adult audiences by surrounding them with visual art from regional artists, exquisite foods, and fine wines. Chamber Music Amarillo also provides educational workshops for the youth of the Texas Panhandle by bringing not only local artists but also international stars such as Pepe Romero to share their talents.
