In 2000, The Paramount Theatre and The State Theater Company formed a new organization called Austin Theatre Alliance.

Austin Theatre Alliance brings the best of two theatrical organizations together. The Paramount Theatre, a presenting theatre celebrating 90 years of legendary entertainment, and The State Theater Company, a resident professional theatre company will create possibilities greater than either entity could achieve alone. ATA draws audiences from throughout Central Texas to downtown Austin to experience performances; live theatre, dance, concerts, children's programs, as well as acting classes, films, and many more opportunities for everyone. The intimate settings, historic downtown location and extraordinary programs make for moments of exploration and discovery, opening hearts and minds to the unbridled beauty of the performing arts.

ATA is more than facilities and organizations. It is about people...people who nurture and celebrate artistic expression by uniting audiences and artists who believe that the performing arts, in its many forms, add to the lives of Austin's citizens.
