The vision for the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts transcends a mere accumulation of remarkable buildings. It calls for a unified community of venues, linked by both proximity and philosophy, expressing a common commitment to excellence.
When the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts opens, it will be among the finest performing arts centers in the world. Two of the world’s foremost architectural firms are in the process of creating designs that will establish the Center as the “cultural signature” of Dallas and the region. The Center’s theaters will feature state-of-the-art facilities providing new production space for local arts organizations and will attract to Dallas the world’s most renowned performing artists. A series of inviting indoor and outdoor spaces will create a civic gathering place for citizens and visitors seeking entertainment and cultural experiences in a vibrant urban setting.
The facilities of the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts will represent the highest quality in design, acoustics, technical and creative support and audience and performer amenities. The Center will be comprised of five venues including the Winspear Opera House, the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre, the City Performance Hall, the Grand Plaza and the Annette Strauss Artist Square .
