The Adventures in the Arts program centers the creation and distribution of a children¹s book, interactive CD-ROM and website that will create an income stream for Arts education and the Cultural Trust to benefit the Texas Commission on the Arts.

Adventures in the A.R.T.S. activities will shed light on the qualities and properties of different materials in art awakening all of their senses, and with new skills, tools, and problem-solving strategies. Adventures in the A.R.T.S will focus on children¹s wonder and surprise in playful and purposeful exploration of materials such as clay, paper sculpture, collage, paints, drawing materials, papier-mâché, multi-cultural, and interdisciplinary arts and crafts.

The format celebrates learning in art and shapes it into a magical adventure. Children discover a place where all the magical things that make art fun, come to life! It's an artistic world that is the source of all wonder and magic on earth where colors flow and mix, lines dance, images morph, and spaces turn into exciting places. This product would be used as a fundraising tool for PTAs across the State, with the potential to expand distribution into the marketplace with the PTA and the Cultural Trust continuing to receive funding from a portion of the sale. The phase one development budget is $200,000. Production and distribution is estimated at $500,000 a year, for two years to achieve statewide distribution.
